#KoreanSkincareSeries | Volcanic Clay Mask & Vitamin C Drop

As Korean skincare products became a big hit worldwide, I am pretty happy to say that I am one of those people who got curious to give them a try and up to now I can't stop using and talking about them! What's there to love? - the groundbreaking ingredients, the playful packaging and formula, and the undeniable results!

I have sensitive, acne prone, combination of oily and dry skin type(too complicated right?!). That's why I am very picky on facial products that I try & stick to use, although at the same time having a very elaborate and multi-step skincare routine.
So, I created this #koreanskincareseries on this blog to talk about my favorites. I'll talk about products that I personally use and love. Let's get started!

Today, I'm focusing on how I tame my daily battle with oily skin & how I keep my face bright with even skintone, without harsh exfoliating. So, I pick to review "Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Pore Clay Mask" and "Klairs Vitamin C Drop".

1.) Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Pore Clay Mask - It's a wash off clay mask with Jeju island volcanic ingredient like AHA that helps remove dead skin cells & excess sebum; helps brighten the skin and treat blemishes! In simple words - my holy grail!

How I use it: At the end of my day, after removing my make up and washing my face with water and cleanser, I evenly apply the mask using my fingers all over my face avoiding the lip and eye area. I wait 15-20 minutes for it to stay and dry on my face then wash it off. I use it 3-4 times a week, before applying my evening routine of moisturizer & serum.

My VERDICT: I love how my skin feels so soft after using it. It feels like my pores are really cleaned. It does make my face less oily but not to the point of overly drying it, and after months of using it, I can say that it did brighten my skintone and helped lighten my acne dark spots. There's no tingling effect or any irritation that I experienced while and after using this product. The mask is unscented and is very smooth and soft (in a clay form) that makes it easy to apply and easy to come off as well (just with water/no cleanser or cotton pads needed). So, yes, it's a keeper!

I used to buy it from MEMEBOX.COM (USA) until they changed their way of selling Korean products, so now I'm buying it from Amazon.com for $12.30.

2.) Klairs Vitamin C Drop - It's a daily serum powered by Vitamin C that helps even the skintone and minimize pores. It is recommended for all skin types including sensitive skin.

How I use it: Although it's recommended for daily use, I only use it 2-3 times a week on my face and back in the evening. I apply 2-3 drops of it either directly on my skin or mix it with my moisturizer and gently pat it with my fingers.

My VERDICT: It really does even the skintone, and the result was evident for me after 3 days of regularly using it. I've seen my acne dark spots literally lighten! As far as minimizing pores, I really didn't see any difference on mines maybe because my pores are considerably tiny anyways. I would not recommend using it everyday if you have sensitive skin like me because when I did so, I had small red bumps formed on my face that then became pimples (a nightmare!). I would also stick to 2-3 drops per use because it can be oily when more drops are applied. Also, I noticed a tolerable slight heat on my face when first applied that then faded away after a few seconds. I like its almost unscented smell and very lightweight-easy to apply consistency (it feels almost like water!). And yes, this is a keeper as well!

I buy this item on Amazon.com for $23.50.

Have you tried these products too? Or maybe thinking of trying them?
