FASHION | My Rosegal Wishlist for Sweater Season

***This is a collaboration with  Rosegal .

I'm really not a fan of the cold seasons, mainly because I can't wear my colorful summer dresses.. haha! Also, because my body usually aches when it's cold...
But I'm a big fan of sweaters, pullovers, cardigans, coats and jackets that are perfect in keeping me warm, comfy and stylish during fall and winter months.

I was born and raised in the tropical country of the Philippines, where fall and winter seasons do not visit at all... So when I moved to Italy and then here in the USA where I experienced freezing cold temperatures and snow, I learned to appreciate thick, warm and layered clothing.
Although I still dislike the feeling of too bundled up and bulky, I do now love styling my outfits with sweaters, pullovers, cardigans and coats! So, when fall starts presenting itself, I actually get excited!

Fittingly that just recently, I was contacted by Rosegal for a fun collaboration. Part of it is this "wishlist" article, where I can freely choose a theme I want and feature their items that best match my theme..
Then I can oder an item or items I want, that I will write a review about when received and tried.

After giving away all the hints on what the wishlist's theme is going to be, well, guess what?!....... it's a "sweater season" wishlist! haha.

I've browsed to so many cute selections of sweaters, pullovers and cardigans on their site that made it difficult to pick my favourite ones. But here are some of the ones I liked the most and I can see myself wearing:

  • SWEATERS

Usually when I purchase knit sweaters, I choose baggy, nude colors like the first two photos and/or  a colorful one with a hint of white or black, like the third photo.
Nude colors tend to match any color of jeans and/or pants, making it easier for me to mix and match items, therefore creating more chic outfits! They are also very versatile when it comes to the color of purse and shoes to wear with them.

But when I do opt to a more colorful sweater, I tend to select the ones with a hint of white or black. I just think the white/black hint neutralizes the mixture of colors on the sweater, thus making it more easy on the eyes and also creating an impression of a minimalistic look despite of all the other colors mixed in.
I also often shy away or even totally avoid, overly bright colored sweaters, just because I notice that they don't compliment my skintone well. (or maybe I just don't style them too well???) haha.
And why baggy?... It looks chic, especially when worn with skinny jeans and even just with thick tights or leggings! It also makes me look slimmer and covers the body areas I dislike. haha

  • CARDIGANS
When choosing cardigans, length is crucial for me, like these 3 photos.
A little above the knee, or exactly on the knee point is the perfect length - NOT longer than that.
The length creates the illusion that I am tall. haha! (especially when worn with skinny jeans/pants and high heels!)
They look great with my A-line skirts and slim dresses too.
I also make sure that a cardigan is not too tight or too body-hugging so that I still have room for a warm, comfy and slim sweater underneath it.

  • PULLOVERS

I love striped and patterned pullovers! For me, they're just so cute and playful to dress up with, don't you agree?..
I never really met somebody that can boldly admit to hate stripes!
These 3 photos perfectly define my favourite patterns. These are usually my go-to's when I'm in the mood for a more sporty, less dramatic look with a pair of high-waist jeans and sneakers.
For me, they give me that feeling of a "youngster look". (since I feel old hahaha)
