TRAVEL | Sea To Sky Gondola - a must visit when in Vancouver BC

**This post shows my honest review of a sponsored tour experience by Sea to Sky Gondola.

On our recent trip to Vancouver BC, we were able to visit the Sea To Sky Gondola in Squamish BC. It was an amazing experience!
From Vancouver, it is a 55-minutes drive to Sea To Sky Gondola. It is accessible by car, shuttle bus, and other bus/tour agencies such as LandSeaTours, WestCoastSightseeing, Pacific Coach, and Perimeter.

We took the Sea to Sky Gondola shuttle that left from Canada Place Vancouver at 10am. The other convenient pick up and drop off areas for this shuttle  service are at Library Square and The Hyatt hotel.
We arrived at Sea to Sky Gondola around 11am and had 4 hours to ourselves to explore its beautiful facilities that started from the Base Camp where we rode the gondola up to the Summit Lodge. The ride going up is 10 minutes and I absolutely loved the views! If you are a hiker, there's also a trail going up - the Sea to Summit Ascent trail- 7.5km in distance and may take 3-5 hours one way.

The Summit  area is the perfect spot to enjoy the panoramic views of nature surrounding you while there. I loved the views from the patio and the viewing deck and then there's the 100 meter long Skypilot suspension bridge that connects to the Spirit trail viewing platform - another area to experience gorgeous views.

From there we took the Spirit trail going back to the Summit Plaza where family picnic area and playground for children can be found. We then proceeded to the Chief viewing platform taking the Panorama trail. I was blown away by the jaw dropping views on The Chief platform!

All these 3 viewing platforms are easily accessible/walkable regardless of age and athletic ability. They are open all year.
Then we walked on the other side of Panorama trail to go back to the Summit plaza. There are daily guided short tours from the Summit plaza that lasts 30-45 minutes on easy terrain - something to take advantage of when you're already there.
We then stayed and relaxed at the Summit Lodge viewing deck as we took in more of the beautiful views while listening to music and other events going on that day.
At the Summit, there are 3 places to grab food and beverage - the Summit Eatery and Edge Bar, CO-Pilot Café, and Bodhis Plaza BBQ.
We had more time left so we decided to go on the Skypilot Bridge again and went to the Tube Park viewing deck - a little pass the Spirit trail viewing platform and it was equally beautiful and relaxing up there.
We went back to the Summit Lodge where we took the gondola ride heading back to the Base Camp to catch our shuttle that leaves at 3pm going back to Vancouver.

I mentioned earlier that for hikers, there are various trails to take and enjoy in addition to the Sea to Sky Summit Ascent trail; and they are:
  • Shannon Basin Loop (9.7 km loop | 2 - 3 hours)
  • Sky Pilot Valley trail (7.8 km return | 3-4 hours return)
  • Al's Habrich trail & Neverland falls (8.4 km return | 3-6 hours return)
  • Skyline trail (12 km one way)
You may see and download the maps here for more detailed info.
Sea To Sky Gondola's current working hours (May 17-Oct 27, 2019) are from 10am to 8pm(last ride down is 9pm).
I would recommend buying tickets online to save money. Here are the current ticket only prices per person:

Senior 65+ $39.95 CDN
Youth 13-18 $25.95 CDN
Child 6-12 $15.95 CDN

And here are the prices with the shuttle service from and to Vancouver:
Adult $89 CDN

Youth 6-18 $54 CDN
Child under 6 $30 CDN

It was an extraordinary experience to be here and I'm hoping that you enjoyed the whole experience while reading this post.....
I would certainly go back to see this beautiful place again when around the area.
