FASHION | My Rosegal Wishlist for Sweater Season

***This is a collaboration with  Rosegal .

I'm really not a fan of the cold seasons, mainly because I can't wear my colorful summer dresses.. haha! Also, because my body usually aches when it's cold...
But I'm a big fan of sweaters, pullovers, cardigans, coats and jackets that are perfect in keeping me warm, comfy and stylish during fall and winter months.

TRAVEL | Alesund, Norway - A tour in the Land of Trolls and the Fjords

Trolls. Fjords.
Those are the 2 words I remember the most as I think of the time I was in Alesund - the 2nd stop of our cruise. They were the main subjects of our 8 hours tour that day.

Fun Fact: Alesund is the most important fishing port in Norway and the town's fishing fleet is one of the most modern in all of Europe. Alesund is noted for its concentration of Art Noveau architecture.

TRAVEL | Bergen, Norway - 8 hours of city sightseeing and lots of walking!

The first stop of our 2017 14-days cruise with Norwegian Jade was in the beautiful city of Bergen, Norway.
Fun Fact: Bergen takes its name from the original Bjorgvin meaning "the green meadow among the mountains".  And I personally saw that meaning come to life with my own eyes…
It served as Norway's capital in the 13th century and then after became a bureau of the Hanseatic League. Bergen port is Norway's busiest, where over 300 cruise ship calls happen a year.

From the port, we bought Hop on/Hop off bus tickets for 35 euros each. It was a bad decision! We didn't realize until we reached the city centre that we can basically walk from the port to the first city sightseeing spot - "Bryggen" - in 15 minutes and everything else that this beautiful city offers to tourists like us having a limited time can be reached by foot! Yes, by foot!

FOOD | My Forever Love for COFFEE and COFFEE SHOPS!

Being in Europe for vacation reminds me of the many reasons why I love going to coffee shops/cafes for a cup of coffee and one or two pastries on the side.

I lived in Bologna Italy for almost 5 years and that's where I first found "mi'amore" (my love) for coffee and pastries.

When the word Italy is mentioned, I find it amusing how many (especially foodies alike) will instantly think of coffee and croissant! (but then of course come pizza, pasta, gelato then bags and shoes. Lol.)

STYLE | Create New Outfits while Saving Money: How I do it!

"It's not the price tag, the brand or whether it's in or not that makes an outfit stand-out and beautiful, it's how you carry it…"

This passed weekend, people were telling me "I love your outfit! You always have brand new outfits all the time!"

I was flattered of course, because I love dressing up and it's nice to know that others appreciate it...
But at the same time, I do want to clarify the misconception of "having brand new outfits all the time!"
Although I really wish so! haha. It's impossible, because I am not filthy rich to have all the money to keep buying brand new clothes, shoes, bags and accessories.
That's why I wrote this post to share my personal tips and tricks on how I give the impression to others that my outfits are brand new but in actuality they're not and how I save money when I shop for outfits.

I still can't believe that this blog is up and running. After a long period of second-thoughts, whether to create a blog or not, last June of this year I finally published

As I watch how this blog's audience keep growing, how it keeps opening new doors to meet other bloggers like me and how great opportunities to work with brands/companies keep coming along the way, I'm always left speechless (even dazed) and very much thankful ofcourse.

My Weekend Wrant | Transitioning to a new camera - The struggle is real!

"Change is hard at the beginning. Messy in the middle. But gorgeous at the end." - Robin Sherma

I agree 100% and am in sync with this quote.
This month, I have switched to a new camera to use for my Instagram posts and Blog posts. And yes, "change" is indeed hard at first, super messy in the middle process, yet the gorgeous end result, I prayerfully hope and want to achieve the soonest!

TRAVEL | Summerfun in Lake Tahoe Ca and travel tips

Yay! A 4-day-weekend is a mini vacation for me and hubby dear!
We decided to escape the Valley heat and air by going to Lake Tahoe for a day, last July 4th weekend.

Living, working and staying in the city day after day weaken us not just physically but mentally.
So, what's a better way to re-energize ourselves but to spend a nice weather day in nature right?!

FOODTRIP | My Milk Tea and Boba Addiction

Who doesn't know boba milk tea drink nowadays? Both young and old from different cultures around the world are now fans of this addicting asian-of-origin drink!

What is boba? What is milk tea?

Milk tea is simply a drink made of 2 main ingredients: "milk and flavored tea".
Boba is a tapioca peal having a soft, chewy consistency similar to that of a gummy candy.

Combine milk tea and boba and you'll have the famous Boba Milk Tea drink (also called Bubble Milk Tea)!

It is said that this drink has been invented in Taichung Taiwan in the 1980's. Which then became popular in most parts of East and Southeast Asia during the 1990's. And is later well received by global consumers from Canada and the USA, specifically in areas with high asian demographics.
Also, from my recent trips to Europe, it is also well accepted and loved in that part of the world now.

Hence, it is easy to find cafes/shops that are entirely devoted to boba milk teas nowadays.
Asian and even non-asian restaurants are serving this drink as part of their menu due to its known popularity with the public.

I've been to many of this cafes/restaurants and tried a variety of boba milk teas. But since 2015, I've found my favorite cafe serving a variety of fun, flavored and fresh boba milk teas - T4 you! which I will be talking about today.

#KoreanSkincareSeries: Oh my Acne battle - Part 1 | Sheet Mask & Blemish Cream

"Acne" - oh how I dislike the word!

Facts about Acne: It's estimated to affect 9.4% of the global population. 95% of all people will experience acne at some point in their lives.
Infact, in the US alone,  nearly 50 million Americans suffers from acne. 95% of acne sufferers believe that there is a cure for acne and only 4% actually know that acne can never be cured but can be treated effectively!

After years of being a part of that 96% believers, I've finally well realized and proven myself that it's more realistic to be part of that 4% group instead.
Having spent so much time, finance, and efforts on harsh acne products and dermatology procedures, wishfully thinking that something will work eventually, I finally understood & convinced myself of this saying by Sun Tzu:
"if you know your enemies and know yourself, you can win a hundred battles without a single loss....
if you know yourself but not your opponent, you may win or may lose...
if you know neither yourself and your enemy, you will always endanger yourself..."

This perfectly describe the battle with acne.. LOL

A woman in her 30's and her bright summer dress!

I heard of some people say "when a woman turns 30 and up, everything just seem to go downfall", and also heard others say "age 30 & up is a major turning point in a woman's life for the better".
Which do I believe?
I'll answer - "It depends - on the individual."

Let's consider some "simple" events where both viewpoints can be applied:

Scenario #1: I understand how some view it as a downfall due to factors that come with aging such as, physical changes like weight gain, skin problems (wrinkles, acne); also emotional/social changes like career boredom, stress from caring and maintaining a family and so forth.. which then can lead to lower self-esteem/worth and less exciting life. (**I'm not even going to detail every single example there can be, because I know the list will go on and on!)

Scenario #2: But on the other hand, I also agree with those who believe and see it as a brighter period in their life. A time to love and embrace their body more and all the changes that come with it; to appreciate their career even more or to pursue a more exciting one; and to tackle family life and responsibilities with patience, hope and more love. I prefer to be on this side = the positive and mature side!

SUMMER Favorites: Lip Tint & Balm | Secret Key & Holika Holika

To perfect that summer glam, hydrated and natural glowing lips are a must!
I personally prefer lip balms & light lip tints over lipsticks during summer time because they add a simple yet cute charm on my summer outfits by keeping a natural look!

Today, I'll talk about 2 of my most used lip balm & tint (recently). And yes, they are Korean brands!

FOOD | My RAMEN addiction | Ajisen Ramen as my #1 pick

I've never been to Japan, and I would love to visit there one day so I can eat " authentic Japanese ramen" as much as I want to!

But for now, I'll be happy with the nearby ramen places I can go to whenever I have the craving!
Ramen restaurants have started booming here in California for the past 2 years. So far, I have tried 10 nearby ramen places (both good and bad ones), and today I will highlight 4 of them.

Let's start with "what exactly is japanese ramen"?
Ramen consists of  noodles served in a meat or fish-based broth, often flavored with soy sauce or miso, with toppings like sliced pork (or chasu), dried seaweed (or nori), green onions (or negi) and more (like corn, cabbage, garlic). The most popular ramen I know are the tonkotsu (pork bone broth) ramen mostly known from Kyushu, Japan and the miso ramen mostly known from Hokkaido, Japan

SUMMER Vibes | Dealing with the heat plus #OOTD

What to do when it's 103 degrees Fahrenheit hot where you live?

a.) Go to the mall and get free AC
b.) Go to the beach
c.) Go to a nearby city or somewhere else cooler in temperature
d.) Stay at home and blast on your AC

This weekend I picked options "b" and "c" and paired them with a light summer Mason Jules midi dress (bought from, my old-fave plain white vans and a lightweight white coach backpack, and voila!

#OOTD style = chic without compromising comfort.

My city's summer heat is just unbearable (sad to say…). So most of the people I know don't mind driving to the Bay Area on the weekends to enjoy the cool breeze at the beach or just hang out in any surrounding bay area cities that has cooler temps!

So my husband and I did just so. We drove an hour to San Jose Ca. We spent 2 hours walking around inside the Westfield mall and shopped some sales and then headed to Santana Row (just a block away from the mall).

#KoreanSkincareSeries | Volcanic Clay Mask & Vitamin C Drop

As Korean skincare products became a big hit worldwide, I am pretty happy to say that I am one of those people who got curious to give them a try and up to now I can't stop using and talking about them! What's there to love? - the groundbreaking ingredients, the playful packaging and formula, and the undeniable results!

I have sensitive, acne prone, combination of oily and dry skin type(too complicated right?!). That's why I am very picky on facial products that I try & stick to use, although at the same time having a very elaborate and multi-step skincare routine.
So, I created this #koreanskincareseries on this blog to talk about my favorites. I'll talk about products that I personally use and love. Let's get started!

Today, I'm focusing on how I tame my daily battle with oily skin & how I keep my face bright with even skintone, without harsh exfoliating. So, I pick to review "Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Pore Clay Mask" and "Klairs Vitamin C Drop".
